The Village of Lakemore makes the health and safety of our residents a priority.  On June 2, 2025, the Village purchased replacement AED units for our Police and Fire Departments.  Units will also be placed at some parks. 
 We want to stress the importance of knowing how to properly use these units.

Vicious Animal Ordinance  
Applications are now available at the Lakemore Police Department. Collar & sign will cost $7.50 due with your application.  Re-registration is an annual requirement to make sure the Village has your updated animal information.

Introducing Text to 9-1-1
 
 
Stay Safe, Stay Connected:
If you can’t call, you can still get help. Text to 9-1-1 is available for speech or hearing impaired or in dangerous situations where speaking is unsafe. Remember, Call When You Can, Text When You Can’t. Your safety is just a text away.
Basic Requirement:
You must have a text-capable phone and a wireless service plan.
Messaging apps will not work for Text to 9-1-1 (such as WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, etc.)
 
Important Notes:
Texting may be delayed by 5 to 10 seconds.
Do not send photos or videos. 9-1-1 cannot receive them.
Do not group text or message multiple recipients.
Text to 9-1-1 is only available in some areas. If it is unavailable, you’ll receive an automatic reply instructing you to call 9-1-1.
 
How to Text 9-1-1:
The caller will open their Text Messages
To/Recipient: 911
Message: Exact Location and a short description of your emergency (Use plain language – no abbreviations, emojis, or slang).
Press Send and Stay on Your Phone, and do not hang up.
Help will be sent, and additional questions will be asked.
 
Reminders:
Texting 9-1-1 is for EMERGENCIES ONLY
For non-emergencies, call 330-899-1046
ALWAYS make a voice call to 9-1-1 if you can. Voice calls are quicker and provide better, more detailed communication.
 
In any emergency, your safety is our priority. Texting 9-1-1 can save lives—use it wisely, and remember--CALL WHEN YOU CAN, TEXT WHEN YOU CAN’T.
